Setting off from Aberfoyle, our circular walk explores some of the more mystical landmarks around the Aberfoyle area. We’ll start by heading out to Lochan Spling where we might just find some really big fish – there are some interesting sculptures in the area!

From there, woodland tracks take us across the Rob Roy way before heading up Doon Hill. Local history tells the tale of a minister at Aberfoyle Kirk with an interest in superstition & folklore. He wrote a book revealing the secrets of the fairies, who in revenge for sharing their secrets kidnapped him and encased his soul in the trunk of a pine tree at the top of Doon Hill.
